Story

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Charles, a beloved father, friend, and mentor who touched the lives of so many with his warmth, dedication, and generosity.
Charles graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, with a concentration in Medicine. Ever passionate about helping others, he was diligently working toward completing his Master’s degree, with the ultimate goal of attending medical school and becoming a physician.
His life’s purpose was simple yet profound—to help people.
At the time of his passing, Charles was an Athletic Trainer for ECU’s football program and also proudly served as a Maintenance Technician at Proximity at 10th in Greenville, NC, where he was a valued member of The Preiss Company team. His strong work ethic, friendly presence, and willingness to lend a hand made a lasting impression on both coworkers and residents.
Beyond his professional life, Charles gave selflessly to his community. He volunteered extensively as a coach for youth and adult sports leagues, sharing his knowledge, time, and encouragement with young athletes and teammates alike.
Above all, Charles loved his son Chase. No matter how busy life became, he never missed a chance to speak about Chase with pride and deep affection. He worked hard to provide for him, and his love for his son was evident to everyone who knew him.
What made Charles truly special was his heart. He had a gift for lifting the spirits of those around him with his witty anecdotes, light sarcasm, big smile, and warm hugs. He cared deeply for his family, friends, coworkers, and community—and would go out of his way to help anyone in need.
Though Charles may no longer be with us physically, his presence lives on through the love he shared and the many lives he touched. We will forever miss him and keep him close in our hearts.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will be dispersed to his loving parents and will go toward final expenses, with any remaining funds set aside to support his son, Chase, as he grows and navigates life without his father.
Thank you for your support in honoring Charles’s life, work, and legacy.
